Real Madrid
Form & Tactical Outlook:
Mourinho's men looked down and out when trailing 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night, but late strikes completed a breathtaking 4-3 victory to maintain a flawless continental haul. Following a disciplined 1-0 domestic win against Villarreal, Real Madrid have responded emphatically to their pre-break derby defeat. Sitting six points adrift of Barcelona, victory is non-negotiable. Super-subs Endrick and Carlos Espí are expected to remain impact options from the bench, allowing Yan Diomandé to drift onto the left flank with Arda Güler starting on the right. At the back, Dean Huijsen is poised for an immediate recall to central defense.
Team News:
Vinícius Júnior begins his four-match domestic ban following his straight red card against Villarreal. He is joined on the sidelines by an extensive defensive injury list: Éder Militão (muscle), Rodrygo (knee), Ferland Mendy (hip), and Raúl Asencio (leg) are all unavailable for selection.
Sevilla
Form & Tactical Outlook:
Luis García Plaza's side arrive in Madrid as the fresher team, having had nearly a full week to recover from Monday’s chaotic 3-3 draw with Levante. A solid haul of 14 points from their opening eight matches (W4 D2 L2) places Los Nervionenses fifth in the table, just four points behind Real Madrid. However, historical omens are stark: Sevilla are on an agonizing 15-match winless streak against Real Madrid in all competitions (13 defeats) and have not tasted league victory at the Bernabéu since December 2008.
Team News:
The visitors will be without injured trio Marcão (muscle), Jon Guridi (adductor), and Miguel Sierra (shoulder). Striker Isaac Romero is suspended following his dismissal against Levante. In attack, 22-year-old Robbie Ure is set to lead the line after opening his account last time out, while in-form midfielder Youssouf Fofana will anchor the engine room.
